Our team is committed to making your visit as calm, comfortable, and supportive as possible. Dr. Giridhar and Dr. Vijay consult together on all patient cases, providing you with optimal results and comprehensive personalized aftercare. Your child’s safety is our top priority, and we welcome parents, partners, or a support person to attend the visit with you.
What to Expect During the Visit:
Evaluation & Consultation
Dr. Veerula will listen to your concerns, complete a thorough oral exam, and explain whether your child is a candidate for tongue or lip tie release. He’ll answer all your questions and walk you through the next steps.
Same-Day Treatment
If appropriate, especially for newborns struggling to latch or with feeding issues, we recommend same-day treatment. Depending on insurance, prior authorization may be required please call to verify.
For Infants:
🍼 Your baby will be gently swaddled to keep them calm and safe.
💧 A topical numbing gel is applied.
⚡ We use a diode laser, and the actual release takes less than 1 minute.
⏱️ You’ll be reunited with your baby within 10 minutes.
For Toddlers (Ages 1–3):
😌 A mild oral sedative (Versed) may be offered for comfort and cooperation.
⏱️ It takes ~30 minutes to take effect and wears off in 1–2 hours.
🦷 The procedure is quick and well-tolerated.
After the Procedure:
🤱 You’ll have time and space to feed and comfort your child immediately after the release.
-
It's normal for infants to have temporary feeding difficulty due to the numbing gel—this usually resolves in a couple of hours.
-
Some babies prefer to rest or nap following the procedure.
-
Toddlers and older children may need a few quiet moments to adjust before heading home.
